Christmas evening: 13.12.07

Here are the words for Away in a Manger that we will be singing after our P.4 play.  Please learn as we will not have sheets to sing from for this one and it is just P.4 singing it!!!

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,

The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.

The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay

The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,

But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.

I love thee, Lord Jesus.  Look down from the sky

And stay by my side until morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus;  I ask thee to stay

Close by me for ever, and love me I pray.

Bless all the dear children in thy tender care

And fit us for heaven to live with thee there.

Christmas Carols

Christmas

These are some of the carols we will be learning for our Christmas concert, so you can learn and practise them at home.

It was on a starry night

It was on a starry night, when the hills were bright.

Earth lay sleeping, sleeping calm and still;

then in a cattle shed, in a manger bed,

a boy was born, King of all the world.

And all the angels sang for him

the bells of heaven rang for him;

for a boy was born, King of all the world.

And all the angels sang for him,

the bells of heaven rang for him;

for a boy was born, King of all the world.

Soon the shepherds came that way,

where the baby lay,

and were kneeling, kneeling by his side.

And their hearts believed again, for the peace of men;

for a boy was born, King of all the world.

Drummer Boy

Come, they told me, pah-rum-pum-pum-pum!

Our new born King to see, pah-rum-pum-pum-pum!

Our finest gifts we bring, pah-rum-pum-pum-pum!

to lay before the King, pah-rum-pum-pum-pum! Rum-pum-pum-pum!

So, to honour him pah-rum-pum-pum-pum!

when we come.

Have you remembered to ask at home if you are able to be in our school concert on the evening of 13th December?
